Business & Investment (PNP)
Buy or build a business in a Canadian province
Overview
Business owners and senior managers with capital and management experience have a strong chance at permanent residence through a province’s entrepreneur or investor immigration stream.
Requirements vary by province and stream, but applicants generally need sufficient capital, relevant management or ownership experience, a successful provincial nomination, and a commitment to operate the business in — and hire from — that province.
Two common process shapes: the province nominates and the applicant receives PR before relocating to invest; or the province nominates, the applicant receives a work permit, relocates to establish the business, and applies for PR once the business is operating, via the province’s confirmation letter.
Key requirements
- Sufficient investment capital (varies by province and stream)
- Relevant management or ownership experience
- An acceptable business plan for the target province

- Successful provincial nomination
